  • 2 cups frozen hashbrowns, thawed These golden potatoes add crunch.
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese Will melt beautifully, coating the casserole.

Sauce Mixture

  • 2 cups milk The creamy base of your sauce.
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour For thickening the sauce.
  • 0.5 tsp salt Enhances the flavors.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • In a medium skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat, breaking it apart until browned. Drain excess grease.
  • In a large bowl, mix cooked sausage with thawed hashbrowns and quartered biscuit pieces.
  • In another bowl, whisk milk, flour, salt, and half of the cheese until smooth.
  • Pour the milk mixture over the sausage and hashbrown blend, stirring gently.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until biscuits are golden brown and cheese bubbles.
  • Let the casserole cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, drain sausage grease and allow casserole to cool slightly before serving. Use a non-stick baking dish for easy cleanup.
