  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed

  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
  • Drop scoops of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving ample space between each scoop.

Baking

  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the cookies are just set.
  • Allow cooling on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with a glass of milk or ice cream, and consider packaging them as a gift.
