Ingredients
  

For the Pastry

  • 2 sheets Puff pastry sheets (thawed) Ensure fully thawed for easy rolling.
  • 1 beaten egg 1 beaten egg mixed with a splash of water or milk (egg wash) Gives a golden hue when baked.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential seasoning to enhance flavors.

For the Filling

  • 4 oz Softened goat cheese Provides luxurious richness.
  • 1/2 cup Chopped walnuts Adds nutty crunch.
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons Honey Enhances flavors with sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Finely chopped fresh thyme leaves Gives an aromatic touch.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Thaw the puff pastry sheets as per package instructions. Lightly flour a work surface and roll out the pastry into a larger rectangle. Cut into small squares or rectangles.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the goat cheese, chopped walnuts, honey, and thyme. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Place a dollop of filling in the center of each pastry square. Fold over and seal the edges with a fork.
  • Brush the tops with the egg wash.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For best results, ensure puff pastry is fully thawed. Experiment with different nuts or herbs. Keep an eye on pastries while baking to prevent over-browning.
