Ingredients
  

For the dough

  • 1 cup water Base for the dough.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Adds sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances flavors.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Ensures a tender bite.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Foundation of the churro.
  • 2 large eggs Provides structure.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds aromatic flavor.

For frying

  • as needed vegetable oil For frying.

For rolling

  • 1/2 cup sugar For rolling the churros.
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon Defines churro flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Heat over medium-high until boiling.
  • Remove from heat and stir in all-purpose flour until a smooth dough forms.
  • Let the dough cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.

Frying

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare a plate with paper towels to drain the churros after frying.
  • Place dough in a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe lengths of dough into hot oil, cutting with scissors.
  • Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  • Remove churros and drain on paper towels.

Finishing

  • Mix sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  • While warm, roll churros in the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  • Serve with chocolate sauce for dipping.

Notes

Ensure oil is at the right temperature to avoid greasy churros. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
