  • Peel the onions and slice them into rings about 1/2-inch thick.

  • Stuff a smaller onion ring within a larger one and fill generously with mozzarella.
  • Freeze the stuffed onion rings for about an hour to firm the cheese.

Breading

  • Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
  • Coat each onion ring in flour, dip in eggs, and roll in breadcrumbs.
  • For extra crunch, repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps.

Frying

  • Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Add the breaded onion rings carefully to the hot oil.
  • Fry for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Drain on paper towels to soak up excess oil.
