Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, egg, chopped green onions, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated but avoid overmixing.
  • Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a lined baking sheet.

Baking

  • Bake the meatballs for 15-20 minutes until cooked through and browned.

Cooking the Sauce

  • In a small saucepan, mix soy sauce, water, and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of cold water to make a slurry. Add this to the saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens.

Sautéing the Broccoli

  • In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Sauté the broccoli florets for about 5 minutes until tender-crisp.

Combining

  • Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the skillet along with the thickened sauce. Stir to coat everything.
  • Allow to cook together for another 3-5 minutes for flavors to meld. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
